The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Danilo Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Illinois Bluewaters's protests and gave Danilo Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. Danilo Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Şeray Gürgen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Owen Baker. The goal made the score 1-0. Güneş İltemur's late challenge caught a Miami Gators's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Myles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milo Winn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Ramiro Workman threw the ball into play from the sideline. A very good chance. 冯永宽 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Owen Baker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miami Gators's Owen Baker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Miami Gators from getting a goal against them. Illinois Bluewaters's Danilo Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
The wind increased when Merrill Justice made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Illinois Bluewaters's Danilo Maranhense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Owen Baker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Miami Gators's Owen Baker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 冯永宽 in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Sal Jarrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illinois Bluewaters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sal Jarrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jacob Knapp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Sal Jarrell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Illinois Bluewaters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. A collision led to Miami Gators getting a freekick after 70 minutes play.
