After 14 minutes of play, Ombú's Rigoberto Navarro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valentin Mercurio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Universitario de Deportes's Valentin Mercurio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Farias in the 16th minute of play. Lino Aznar's late challenge caught a Ombú's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Aznar helped the player get up and apologised. Anselmo Costante was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Universitario de Deportes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Anselmo Costante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Farias struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Anselmo Costante might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Donostia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Costante ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Tolino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rigoberto Navarro succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. In the 78th minute of the match, Teodoro Farias got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valentin Mercurio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ombú's zone, Anselmo Costante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Donostia came out of the goal and Anselmo Costante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Universitario de Deportes getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Prospero Lorien hit a great ball. After 88 minutes, Lucas Paul mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitario de Deportes and the Ombú players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucas Paul kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ombú walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
