After 3 minutes of play, MOE SATIVA's Vela Mancina made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Aureo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nicanor Bento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Aureo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christer Pe in the 14th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Jaime Ixaka in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MOE SATIVA's Ariel Perutxo. Paulo Rito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Francisco Aureo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ariel Perutxo kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Nicanor Bento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cornel Pencu was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 22 minutes into the game, Agustin Cefero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MOE SATIVA the free kick. Cornel Pencu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Bento in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Ariel Perutxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the MOE SATIVA defense, Nicanor Bento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cornel Pencu. The MOE SATIVA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cornel Pencu should have stopped the shot. Cornel Pencu came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Racing Club's Agustin Cefero. But to his dismay, Agustin Cefero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 45th minute of the match Jaime Ixaka shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornel Pencu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicanor Bento was the one to do the kick off. Nicanor Bento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cornel Pencu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Jaime Ixaka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, MOE SATIVA's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Bento came free, but Cornel Pencu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Vela Mancina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agustin Cefero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Pencu having to interfere. A collision led to MOE SATIVA getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Christer Pe hit a great ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Vela Mancina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOE SATIVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vela Mancina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Racing Club's Francisco Aureo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Rito in the 81st minute of play. If Agustin Cefero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Ixaka kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Racing Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Racing Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
