Diego Colon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Generoso Abancens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 16 minutes into the match, Punua's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Montel came free, but Generoso Abancens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Generoso Abancens managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Zeus AC's Diego Colon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Braulio Gomez came out of the goal and Aurelio Belasko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelio Belasko couldn't finish the play. Aurelio Belasko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aurelio Belasko scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Braulio Gomez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alonzo Macerio struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Braulio Gomez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Punua. Aurelio Belasko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braulio Gomez having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Zeus AC's Diego Colon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Generoso Abancens. Generoso Abancens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Arnaldo Montel made the kick off in the second half.
