The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Apricis Bruxella's Jim Claevers got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Fabio Di Maio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arian Beqaj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Claevers in the 9th minute of the match. Vahdet Ulumeriç received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Laurence Van Den Abeele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Louis Ouaddou in the 19th minute of play forced Apricis Bruxella's goalkeeper Laurence Van Den Abeele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Jean-Louis Ouaddou ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laurence Van Den Abeele was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Laurence Van Den Abeele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Louis Ouaddou in the 26th minute of the match. Laurence Van Den Abeele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Louis Ouaddou in the 30th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Apricis Bruxella's zone, Jean-Louis Ouaddou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laurence Van Den Abeele came out of the goal and Jean-Louis Ouaddou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jean-Louis Ouaddou in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurence Van Den Abeele saved Apricis Bruxella from getting behind. Beek City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ademir Rodrigues in the 40th minute. After taking down the ball on Beek City's corner Johnny Bator fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Laurence Van Den Abeele quite easily take care of the ball. Beek City's Arian Beqaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Claevers in the 43rd minute of play. Laurence Van Den Abeele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vahdet Ulumeriç, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jim Claevers was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jim Claevers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apricis Bruxella's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Claevers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arian Beqaj breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Bator got free with Laurence Van Den Abeele in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Apricis Bruxella's Laurence Van Den Abeele proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Apricis Bruxella from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute Johnny Bator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurence Van Den Abeele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeoffrey Van Hooveldt in the 73rd minute of play forced Beek City's goalkeeper Arian Beqaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 76 played minutes Apricis Bruxella got a freekick which was hit by Wayne Mesmaeckers. Ademir Rodrigues was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Laurence Van Den Abeele made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Bator in the 81st minute. Laurence Van Den Abeele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Louis Ouaddou, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. With an all-out effort, Beek City's Laurence Van Den Abeele threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jean-Louis Ouaddou, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gencer Korkutalp took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arian Beqaj. Arian Beqaj dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.
