The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Folke Abrahamsson kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 8th minute of play. Ntinos Karsiotis made in the 11th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gottlieb Hammer. Karsten Zielinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julien Staffelbach in the 13th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Fabrício Castanheira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karsten Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julien Staffelbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 24 minutes of play, Linköpings AIK's Julien Staffelbach made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karsten Zielinski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jimmy Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gottlieb Hammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes Linköpings AIK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elivélton Tavares who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Neşat Beykan advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 30th minute. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Linköpings AIK from getting a goal against them. Karsten Zielinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Staffelbach in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Julien Staffelbach made a precise shot to the right of Karsten Zielinski. Balus Treter's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gottlieb Hammer to strike the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Marbjörn Garpsson with Willy Witarya as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Willy Witarya made in the 60th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Julien Staffelbach. Gottlieb Hammer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Linköpings AIK getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Marbjörn Garpsson hit a great ball. Jimmy Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gottlieb Hammer, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. A throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game was made by Ntinos Karsiotis with Gottlieb Hammer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Linköpings AIK were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Balus Treter's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marbjörn Garpsson took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Marbjörn Garpsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Karsten Zielinski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Balus Treter's Jiang Yu Liang managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabrício Castanheira in the 81 minute of the game. A collision led to Balus Treter getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ntinos Karsiotis hit a great ball. When Lukas Prielhofer came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Balus Treter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lukas Prielhofer couldn't finish the play. Julien Staffelbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karsten Zielinski having to interfere. Linköpings AIK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
