The audience thought a goal was coming when Loreto Astonzas got free with Jorge de Amorim in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rocio Camerin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ronaldo Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 minutes of play, Tribos 4EVER's Ronaldo Toledo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Porfiro Comillas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Tribos 4EVER's Edgard Trancoso got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 44th match minute, Tribos 4EVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Loreto Astonzas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loreto Astonzas was the one to do the kick off. The referee ignored Tribos 4EVER's protests and gave Edgard Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Terciero Orantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VERDOLAGA CITY FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terciero Orantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Loreto Astonzas might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge de Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Loreto Astonzas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Benat Trasloseros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 82 played minutes, Tribos 4EVER's Osmar Quadros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Porfiro Comillas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tribos 4EVER reached it. After 87 minutes, Leopoldo do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tribos 4EVER and the VERDOLAGA CITY FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of VERDOLAGA CITY FC booed when Tribos 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball.
