Luiz Gustavo Arruda came free in the 21st minute and tried to tip the ball over Tiago Gabriel Valladares, but to the joy of Mel Mel F C's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Alan Cerezo's late challenge caught a Grêmio PR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. Tiago Gabriel Valladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Santos in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Osvaldo Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiago Gabriel Valladares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Mel Mel F C's attentive Benedykt Adamowicz managed to snatch the ball when Maurício Braga made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Grêmio PR's Osvaldo Santos got a free kick in the 36th minute. Válter França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandão Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Ferdinando Vasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Clóvis Trancoso in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Mel Mel F C's Benedykt Adamowicz.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Furtado made a kick off. Fernandão Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Tande in the 54th minute of play. When Ferdinando Vasco fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mel Mel F C's protests and gave Ferdinando Vasco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mel Mel F C getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ferdinando Vasco hit a great ball. In the 57thth minute of the game Válter França who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio PR's Fernandão Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grêmio PR's Fernandão Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter França in the 58th minute of play. Fernandão Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Elias Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diamantino Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Ferdinando Vasco hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Válter França kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Grêmio PR's goal looked a bit too open when Válter França came free, but Fernandão Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio PR's zone, Válter França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandão Reis came out of the goal and Válter França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Grêmio PR booed when Mel Mel F C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Mel Mel F C's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Furtado came free, but Tiago Gabriel Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ferdinando Vasco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. In the 82nd minute, Ferdinando Vasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Osvaldo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio PR's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Gabriel Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grêmio PR eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
