Jacinto Panfilo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MOE SATIVA. If Vela Mancina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saprissa's Jacinto Panfilo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Saprissa from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes in the game, Ildefonso Hanot fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jacinto Panfilo having to interfere. MOE SATIVA's Vela Mancina got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacinto Panfilo was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Vela Mancina capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vela Mancina really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Vela Mancina fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MOE SATIVA's protests and gave Vela Mancina a yellow card for diving instead. Vela Mancina hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the game, Ildefonso Hanot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MOE SATIVA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saprissa the free kick. In the 26th match minute, MOE SATIVA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Hanot to maneuver through the defense. Vela Mancina scored 2-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacinto Panfilo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Saprissa's Jacinto Panfilo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ildefonso Hanot in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Vela Mancina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MOE SATIVA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Gizon to strike the kick off in the second half. Vela Mancina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vela Mancina in the 57th minute of play forced Saprissa's goalkeeper Jacinto Panfilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Saprissa defense, Vela Mancina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacinto Panfilo. The Saprissa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacinto Panfilo should have stopped the shot. Vela Mancina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Panfilo having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in MOE SATIVA's zone, Pedro Gizon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornel Pencu came out of the goal and Pedro Gizon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hernan Jurdan kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Apolo Frutos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Cornel Pencu made a huge save. Cornel Pencu made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Apolo Frutos sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Gizon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cornel Pencu having to make a save. Jacinto Panfilo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Rito in the 87th minute of the match. Vela Mancina, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. There was no doubt that MOE SATIVA were the better team. MOE SATIVA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
