Jerzy Dudek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Del Piero, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 25th match minute, KS Bukowe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislao Kuparinen to maneuver through the defense. Cristiano Ubriaco got a throw-in 27 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tono Baizan. In the 28th minute Gianluca Lapadula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Firmo Cerda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Van Caels got free with Jerzy Dudek in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
