Conrado Atarratze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto-Doroteo Méndez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Norberto-Doroteo Méndez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conrado Atarratze was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Americo Lluc might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Conrado Atarratze. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Americo Lluc ran back to his position shaking his head. If Norberto-Doroteo Méndez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Sportivo Luan Toro were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Koen Van der Hoeven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Conrado Atarratze made an important save on a dangerous shot by Americo Lluc in the 54th minute. Norberto-Doroteo Méndez kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Conrado Atarratze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Vitin, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The Sportivo Luan Toro supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sportivo Luan Toro would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
