The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zoilo Rojica came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Café DE PLOEG's Boudewijn Vlimmens. But to his dismay, Boudewijn Vlimmens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Philip Van Den Eijnde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generosb Solano, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Café DE PLOEG's goal looked a bit too open when Fortunato Canal came free, but Philip Van Den Eijnde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Linterna verde booed when Café DE PLOEG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwin Reuters didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dolfo Aledo in the 19th minute of play forced Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Philip Van Den Eijnde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philip Van Den Eijnde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generosb Solano in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fortunato Canal in the 37th minute of play forced Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Philip Van Den Eijnde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philip Van Den Eijnde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generosb Solano, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Boudewijn Vlimmens hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Generosb Solano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Philip Van Den Eijnde. Café DE PLOEG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Generosb Solano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Philip Van Den Eijnde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Larpe Canive managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linterna verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Larpe Canive was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philip Van Den Eijnde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the match, Café DE PLOEG's goalkeeper Philip Van Den Eijnde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Generosb Solano. Raymond Cuveliers hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Linterna verde's Ieltxu Botella was substituted for Beltran Villafana. Zoilo Rojica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymond Cuveliers in the 65th minute of play. Philip Van Den Eijnde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato Canal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boudewijn Vlimmens charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boudewijn Vlimmens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fortunato Canal struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Philip Van Den Eijnde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linterna verde. Benedict Van Huele hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rumaldo Gayoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Philip Van Den Eijnde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bibiano Abril during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Café DE PLOEG got a freekick which was hit by Benedict Van Huele. Philip Van Den Eijnde made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Generosb Solano sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Generosb Solano got free with Philip Van Den Eijnde in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raymond Cuveliers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Linterna verde played a much better game than Café DE PLOEG and deserved their victory. The Café DE PLOEG players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
