Leonardo Tipi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lu Zhen Sheng having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Andrzej Zapolski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ismael Furman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrzej Zapolski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexico's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
