Morales Moreira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Vassilis Nentakis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vassilis Nentakis made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Leandro Heidemann sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Moraes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vassilis Nentakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Brazil's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Maurinho Mendonça came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vassilis Nentakis could save by the left post.
