The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anier Gutxi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelson Hernández during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zacarias Gaizko came out of the goal and Orlando Flores tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Anier Gutxi came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ren&Fel C.A.R.P. 09-12-18 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Gutxi couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd match minute, Club Deportivo Águila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Portillo to maneuver through the defense. The Club Deportivo Águila supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Deportivo Águila would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
