The supporters of KS Ruch Chorzów booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Strugure didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Avram Elenescu during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Avram Elenescu hit a great ball. When Lucian Dejeu fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Buzău's protests and gave Lucian Dejeu a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Lucian Dejeu. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind KS Ruch Chorzów's goalkeeper Erez Manco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute of the match FC Buzău got a corner. KS Ruch Chorzów's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonard Aanuţei ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karol Madajczyk got free with Gheorghe Baldovin in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When FC Buzău's Avram Elenescu in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KS Ruch Chorzów's goalie prevented a goal. Avram Elenescu struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Erez Manco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Buzău. If Traian Balaban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gheorghe Baldovin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Madajczyk in the 41st minute of the match. After 41st play minutes Donny Verweijen shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Gheorghe Baldovin and just under the crossbar into goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donny Verweijen made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, FC Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucian Dejeu to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute Karol Madajczyk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Baldovin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Traian Balaban scored 1-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erez Manco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Lucian Dejeu got a free kick in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beniamin Wielowiejski in the 66th minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Baldovin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gheorghe Baldovin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beniamin Wielowiejski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Buzău's Avram Elenescu got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the game, FC Buzău's Traian Balaban nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erez Manco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. A collision led to KS Ruch Chorzów getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Donny Verweijen hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, FC Buzău's Erez Manco threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leonard Aanuţei, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Augustin Cernat hit a great ball. The KS Ruch Chorzów supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Buzău's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Buzău.
