Albert Camus was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Constantino Dean was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hermann Hesse in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Hermann Hesse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Dolar in the 51st minute of play. Peru's Calixto Inchaurdi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Inguanzo in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Espiridion Durazno in the 60th minute of play forced Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Hermann Hesse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermann Hesse was a little too slow when Blasi Asas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-2. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Erruki Velarroa was substituted for Evelio Inguanzo. Peru made a substitution. Jorrin Briones replaced Dale Dolar. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espiridion Durazno in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erruki Velarroa in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calixto Inchaurdi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claude Pradias in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermann Hesse saved Deportivo Popolizio FBC from getting behind. In the 85th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albert Camus ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Leonardo Colmenares fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hermann Hesse quite easily take care of the ball. Calixto Inchaurdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erruki Velarroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 88 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cris Ronaldo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Cris Ronaldo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Calixto Inchaurdi did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erruki Velarroa in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Calixto Inchaurdi saved Peru from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claude Pradias got free with Hermann Hesse in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Hermann Hesse got control of the ball when Jorrin Briones tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
