The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Villa Verde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Rezende to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Villa Verde FC's Jarbas Donato got a free kick in the 5th minute. Igor Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Guadagnoli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villa Verde FC's Igor Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armin Corelli in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Corelli in the 20th minute of play forced Villa Verde FC's goalkeeper Igor Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciccio Moscatelli in the 23rd minute of the match. Angelo Mariotti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armin Corelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Igor Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Christian Guadagnoli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.S.C. NAPOLI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chicão Rosa was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Armin Corelli cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Igor Camargo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Armin Corelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Villa Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Guadagnoli came free, but Igor Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciccio Moscatelli scored 3-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Igor Camargo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Villa Verde FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Joel Ramos hit a great ball. Ciccio Moscatelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Camargo having to interfere. After 81 minutes, Donato De Lorenzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.S.C. NAPOLI and the Villa Verde FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Donato De Lorenzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute of the match Vicente Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eraldo Scibilia skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Ciccio Moscatelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Camargo was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Igor Camargo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ciccio Moscatelli went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Villa Verde FC booed when S.S.C. NAPOLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armin Corelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute of the match Vicente Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eraldo Scibilia skillfully saved the ball. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Ciccio Moscatelli couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 95th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Villa Verde FC. When the referee ended the match the S.S.C. NAPOLI players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
