When Nuno Gonçalves fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Angola's protests and gave Nuno Gonçalves a yellow card for diving instead. Custódio Teive was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boulogne F.C.'s Ask Stamnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Godinho in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Donato Trentini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Custódio Teive was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 42 played minutes U21 Angola got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Gonçalves. Ask Stamnes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Godinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Godinho in the 47th minute of play forced Boulogne F.C.'s goalkeeper Ask Stamnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauricio Tano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Mauricio Tano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Teive saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored Boulogne F.C.'s protests and gave Blas Manni a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Boulogne F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas Manni to maneuver through the defense. Donato Trentini kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Angola getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Nuno Viegas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the U21 Angola defense, Donato Trentini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Custódio Teive. The U21 Angola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Custódio Teive should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Boulogne F.C.'s Ask Stamnes got control of the ball when Toni Godinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Angola players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Boulogne F.C..
