Tony Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlon Mumford, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 44 minutes, Leon Gaszynski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westbam and the Flamengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Smefeldt made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Hans Smefeldt. After 53 played minutes Westbam got a freekick which was hit by Korneliusz Chlebek. Klement Pawlak kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match.
