The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. De Pelgrims's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fu Peng Feng in the 5th minute. Twan Mol made in the 9th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Henk Cardinaal immediately put the ball in play. Jedrzej Debowy charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jedrzej Debowy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Abandon All Hope was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jedrzej Debowy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davi Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias de Ruijter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huub Gerrits struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Davi Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Pelgrims. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kryspin Robak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davi Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mike van Zeijl's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Mathias de Ruijter's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Davi Silva firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 26 minutes Abandon All Hope's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fu Peng Feng who took care of the corner kick. De Pelgrims's Mike van Zeijl was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Davi Silva in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. De Pelgrims's Mike van Zeijl was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Davi Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike van Zeijl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pawel Dobrowski kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Abandon All Hope defense, Huub Gerrits kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Davi Silva. The Abandon All Hope fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davi Silva should have stopped the shot. Mathias de Ruijter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Davi Silva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jedrzej Debowy kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Fu Peng Feng might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davi Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fu Peng Feng ran back to his position shaking his head. 46 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Gwidon Cwojdak came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathias de Ruijter to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Llope came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kryspin Robak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save De Pelgrims from getting a goal against them. In the 63rd match minute, Abandon All Hope was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pawel Dobrowski to maneuver through the defense. If Mike van Zeijl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Kryspin Robak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abandon All Hope's supporters rose to their feet, but Kryspin Robak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Zoetmulder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kryspin Robak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Mike Zoetmulder made a huge save. In the 82nd match minute, Abandon All Hope was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Östen Olsson to maneuver through the defense. Kryspin Robak took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Zoetmulder. Mike Zoetmulder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 94 played minutes Abandon All Hope got a freekick which was hit by Jedrzej Debowy. Abandon All Hope's Davi Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fu Peng Feng in the 95th minute of play. Davi Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathias de Ruijter's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. De Pelgrims fully deserved thier win.
