In the 26th minute, Gloucester City AFC's Jarred Castaneda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paul Heyckendorf. Paul Heyckendorf yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The supporters of Gloucester City AFC booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Tiede didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Kristopher Le Saux came free, but Paul Heyckendorf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Hinnerk Dietrich ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danny Jumel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Sven-Åke Petersson kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarred Castaneda to make the kick off. Paul Heyckendorf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Åke Petersson in the 57th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Lutz Golke could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Danny Jumel however easily saved by the left post. Alex Mansilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danny Jumel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zbigniew Setara in the 92nd minute. Danny Jumel was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Zbigniew Setara capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zbigniew Setara really showed his touch with that goal: 4-3. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Ilie Zâncă hit a great ball.
