With an all-out effort, American Airlines's Ezequiel Centurión threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabio Cannata, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. American Airlines's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Darnell Metcalf in the 16th minute. American Airlines's Carlo Trujillo was substituted for Sol French. In the 71st minute Lorenzo Kellogg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Centurión saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the American Airlines players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
