An unexpectedly hard shot by Otong Pink in the 3rd minute of play forced Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Aden Couzens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Rick Souness had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joélson Domingues. Lucky Star's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rick Souness was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A nice corner shot did that Corbett Alonso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joélson Domingues quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Lucky Star's Otong Yulianto got a free kick in the 13th minute. Aden Couzens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elderslie Magpies's Aden Couzens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Elderslie Magpies from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Lucky Star's Luiz Eduardo Xavier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Irza Muharam took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aden Couzens. Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joélson Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Chaptal in the 30th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otong Pink got free with Aden Couzens in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Eduardo Xavier in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aden Couzens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Eduardo Xavier got free with Aden Couzens in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aden Couzens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Mendes in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Eduardo Xavier in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aden Couzens saved Elderslie Magpies from getting behind. 55 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Mendes came free, but Aden Couzens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucky Star's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Irza Muharam in the 56th minute. Aden Couzens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otong Pink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elderslie Magpies's Aden Couzens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otong Pink in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Elderslie Magpies booed when Lucky Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otong Pink didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elderslie Magpies's Ryszard Cipa was substituted for Szczepan Zieba. Joélson Domingues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rick Souness in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute Luiz Eduardo Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aden Couzens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joélson Domingues made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Rick Souness sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the match, Lucky Star's goalkeeper Joélson Domingues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Chaptal. The supporters of Elderslie Magpies booed when Lucky Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andra Mandagi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joélson Domingues came out of the goal and Rick Souness tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 82 minutes into the match, Luiz Eduardo Xavier notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Elderslie Magpies's Aden Couzens. Aden Couzens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Elderslie Magpies's Cipriano Gilabert was substituted for Neal Weatherby. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Narciso Mendes in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aden Couzens prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
