The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But to his dismay, Mário Maradona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 18 minutes into the match, MINEIROS's goalkeeper Thommy Jadis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peng Yu Jian. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Álvaro Pirani during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mário Maradona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráuzio Mattos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Mário Maradona notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Dráuzio Mattos. Dráuzio Mattos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, MINEIROS's Thommy Jadis got control of the ball when Serafino Nafarroa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th match minute, Mosqueteiros 4EVER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Mosqueteiros 4EVER booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Maradona didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, MINEIROS's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Nafarroa came free, but Thommy Jadis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilio Galsino's late challenge caught a MINEIROS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
