Trojanskahästen's attentive Roger Josefsson managed to snatch the ball when Karl-Åke Berggren made a throw-in in the 11th minute of the game. Per-Olof Collin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kjell Sandström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trojanskahästen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lennart Larsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sävedalen's players had a chance to rest. 36 minutes into the match, Trojanskahästen's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Larsson came free, but Kjell Sandström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per-Olof Collins short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Kjell Sandström to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Isaltino Durr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benigno Urruchua in the 42nd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Trojanskahästen's Kjell Sandström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Olof Collin in the 52nd minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Trojanskahästen's Benigno Urruchua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaltino Durr narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sävedalen's Torsten Ekeroth was substituted for Per Mårtensson. The corner ended in Luís Gustavo Toscano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sävedalen's Isaltino Durr did a great save. If Kristoffer Forsberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trojanskahästen made a substitution. The Trojanskahästen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kjell Sandström should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Olof Collin in the 69th minute of play forced Trojanskahästen's goalkeeper Kjell Sandström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sävedalen had won after a very even match.
