In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Iker Yashin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rickard Ersermans short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Iker Yashin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 27th minute Juan Regato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhuo Xuan Yu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Rickard Erserman took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Iker Yashin to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rickard Erserman in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Yashin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rickard Erserman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Yashin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Deportivo Santiago's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tobías Izamit was slow to take the kick. During this time Inter de Chillán's players had a chance to rest. Inter de Chillán's Rickard Erserman got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, Juan Regato cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Zhuo Xuan Yu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Rickard Erserman made the kick off in the second half. Club Deportivo Santiago's Iker Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Erserman in the 53rd minute of play. Zhuo Xuan Yu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Hayward, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Zhuo Xuan Yu throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ray Hayward in the 56thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Thorvald Egfjord who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Zhuo Xuan Yu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Rickard Erserman notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Club Deportivo Santiago's Iker Yashin. Iker Yashin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Erserman in the 64th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Iker Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zhuo Xuan Yu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gernando Mangueira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 82 minute of play. Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Grzegorz Bierfass replaced Rimas Ciparis. The Inter de Chillán fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Deportivo Santiago had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
