Elvio Vásquez made in the 21st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Conrado Guter immediately put the ball in play. 22 minutes into the match, Rosario Martel notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Chigüires De Mogadiscio's Leonides Durango. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gheorghe Blajin was the one to do the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Durango prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamza Emin in the 68th managed to get into a good position. Atlético Grau Piura's Calixto Inchaurdi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jem Jajecznica in the 70th minute of play. Leonides Durango took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Agüero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Agüero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Xinaro Magarinos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
