An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Kiliz in the 5th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Olavo Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Seran Turres was slow to take the kick. During this time Magallanes's players had a chance to rest. Magallanes's Ksawery Witkowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. Ksawery Witkowski was a little too slow when Godofredo Remigio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. If Tiburcio Kiliz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26th play minutes Geronimo Salomone shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Ksawery Witkowski and just under the crossbar into goal. Magallanes's Ksawery Witkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Salomone in the 33rd minute of play. When Godofredo Remigio came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godofredo Remigio couldn't finish the play. Geronimo Salomone hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Magallanes's Juan Mondaca was substituted for Peio Raggio. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Godofredo Remigio made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Remigio came free, but Ksawery Witkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Mondaca came free, but Olavo Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Magallanes made a substitution. Tomás Thompson replaced Ida Bagus Leal. Racing Club made a substitution. Julian Tejerina replaced Geronimo Salomone. After a defensive mix-up in Magallanes's zone, Godofredo Remigio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ksawery Witkowski came out of the goal and Godofredo Remigio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Orwel in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ksawery Witkowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 79 minutes into the game, Juan Mondaca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olavo Henriques. Juan Mondaca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Ksawery Witkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Orwel in the 83rd minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goalkeeper Olavo Henriques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Mondaca. In the 94th minute Tomás Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Mondaca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Olavo Henriques made a huge save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Magallanes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Racing Club.
