Azeari Velamines made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Svartengren in the 14th minute of play. Dante Mark took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Hellkvist. Sebastian Hellkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Gobbelijns in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Jörn Svartengren made a precise shot to the right of Azeari Velamines. Libertadores Fútbol Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 38 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Azeari Velamines narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Hellkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Mark in the 41st minute of the match. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Salvador Musacchio hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Dante Mark made the kick off in the second half. Jörn Svartengren struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Azeari Velamines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Guayaquil FC. Azeari Velamines stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jörn Svartengren's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Jörn Svartengren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Azeari Velamines. Libertadores Fútbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jörn Svartengren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Azeari Velamines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éric Cantona in the 75th minute of the match. Jakub Ziombkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azeari Velamines having to interfere. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Libertadores Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Jax didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azeari Velamines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éric Cantona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Mateusz Giertych. Dante Mark's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastian Hellkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Pompiliu Cristian hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Azeari Velamines came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona. But to his dismay, Éric Cantona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Inter de Guayaquil FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Libertadores Fútbol Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
