Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Özalp Haliloğlu started the match with the kick off. Hulusi Çimen might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frits Lenoir. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hulusi Çimen ran back to his position shaking his head. Frits Lenoir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turgut Tunçkol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, BÖRÜ's goal looked a bit too open when Özalp Haliloğlu came free, but Ulu Nabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Indiana University's Frits Lenoir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berry Helwig in the 37th minute of play. Turgut Tunçkol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frits Lenoir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 57th minute Indiana University were awarded a corner. Ali Sungurtekin went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Yiğit Haşmetli got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ulu Nabi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 60th minute Yiğit Haşmetli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulu Nabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Indiana University's Ali Sungurtekin got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes BÖRÜ got a freekick which was hit by Václav Hoch. Bahadır Öksüz charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bahadır Öksüz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bahadır Öksüz hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. BÖRÜ made a substitution. Güven Karaoğlan replaced Berke Bıyık. Indiana University's Okanay Kiram was substituted for İbrahim Zikri. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Indiana University's goalkeeper Frits Lenoir, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abdulaziz Uluç hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Bo Ståhlberg was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Mustafa Kemal Akman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulu Nabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of BÖRÜ booed when Indiana University was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orhan Seyfi Türkoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 minutes, Mustafa Kemal Akman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Indiana University and the BÖRÜ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Güven Karaoğlan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 97thth minute, Frits Lenoir skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Indiana University were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
