The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fernando de Toledo got free with Isaltino Baptista in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arí de Lima's late challenge caught a WAU team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arí de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to A.C. Paulistano getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Arí de Lima hit a great ball. In the 9th minute of the match, Paulo Paiva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Isaltino Baptista saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Isaltino Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isaltino Baptista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernandão Lopes in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes A.C. Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Arí de Lima. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Baptista saved A.C. Paulistano from getting behind. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Luiz Fernando de Toledo sped through A.C. Paulistano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Isaltino Baptista. Isaltino Baptista made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Paulo Paiva sent off a good shot on target. Isaltino Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Prado in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, WAU team's Abel Prado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaltino Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Paiva in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Baptista saved A.C. Paulistano from getting behind. Isaltino Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fernando de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Isaltino Baptista made a huge save. In the 47th match minute, WAU team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandão Lopes to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jorginho Linhares made the kick off in the second half. When Paulo Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the WAU team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Paiva couldn't finish the play. Isaltino Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Laerte de Castro notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of A.C. Paulistano's Isaltino Baptista. Isaltino Baptista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st match minute, A.C. Paulistano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldinho Pena to maneuver through the defense. In the 65thth minute of the game Abel Prado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.C. Paulistano's Isaltino Baptista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Paiva in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Baptista saved A.C. Paulistano from getting behind. After a rather tough play, WAU team's Fernandão Lopes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Jorginho Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 73 played minutes A.C. Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Custódio. Isaltino Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando de Toledo in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Paiva in the 81st minute of play forced A.C. Paulistano's goalkeeper Isaltino Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A.C. Paulistano's Isaltino Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Lopes in the 82nd minute of play. Isaltino Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Lopes in the 85th minute of play forced A.C. Paulistano's goalkeeper Isaltino Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaltino Baptista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernandão Lopes's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 86 minutes, Paulo Paiva made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. A.C. Paulistano's Isaltino Baptista tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Isaltino Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte de Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.C. Paulistano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Fernando de Toledo was slow to take the kick. During this time WAU team's players had a chance to rest. Paulo Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Isaltino Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the WAU team players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
