RIVER's Marcial Lordi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Mino in the 26th minute of play. With his leg Fausto Elazar managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when RIVER's Bruno Oxarra fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th minute of the match RIVER got a corner. Albiceleste F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isaac Nuxila ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led RIVER's Isaac Nuxila to fire away a dangerous shot which Fausto Elazar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marcial Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Mino, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 42 minutes into the match, Domingo Remigio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto Elazar. Albiceleste F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingo Remigio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. A collision led to RIVER getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tobias Belmiro hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tobias Mino to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Niki Lauda sped through Albiceleste F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fausto Elazar. The supporters of RIVER booed when Albiceleste F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Avellaneda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Avellaneda during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. RIVER's Hilario Avellaneda was substituted for Domingo Remigio. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. RIVER fully deserved thier win.
