Despite this Jesus Weterio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 15 minutes into the match, Fleetwood Town's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Gonzalez came free, but Jesus Weterio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesus Weterio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Ieltxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Palermo's Leonel Ieltxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesus Weterio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aquiles Eufemio kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oğuzer Saye in the 34th minute of play. If Oğuzer Saye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute of the match, Leonel Ieltxu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jesus Weterio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alfredo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Geldof in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Oğuzer Saye made the kick off in the second half. Pisut Maa struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Alfredo Joey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fleetwood Town. Alfredo Joey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oğuzer Saye in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Gonzalez in the 59th minute of play forced Fleetwood Town's goalkeeper Jesus Weterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bob Geldof sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pisut Maa got free with Alfredo Joey in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Geldof in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Bob Geldof made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Joey. Palermo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to Fleetwood Town getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Carmelo Paio hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Leonel Ieltxu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Fleetwood Town's Jesus Weterio. Jesus Weterio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Santiago Mino kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alfredo Joey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Geldof, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Palermo lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
