Alexander Hultstrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute Zacarias Francesco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pontus Nordström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Daunte made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Witomir Pisarczyk sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Witomir Pisarczyk got free with Osvaldo Daunte in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Characate FC's Osvaldo Daunte got control of the ball when Witomir Pisarczyk tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Witomir Pisarczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Witomir Pisarczyk might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldo Daunte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Witomir Pisarczyk ran back to his position shaking his head. Osvaldo Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaus Mohammadi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Afonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Santa Margarita's Eduardo De Francesco got a free kick in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With his leg Pontus Nordström managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 53rd minute Characate FC were awarded a corner. Emre Can went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Characate FC booed when Santa Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wendell Davids didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo De Francesco lost his temper 57 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Santa Margarita's Eduardo De Francesco got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Santa Margarita's goalkeeper Pontus Nordström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emre Can. The supporters of Characate FC booed when Santa Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wendell Davids didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alexander Hultstrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaus Mohammadi kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Afonso in the 69th minute of play. Gerardo Santikurtz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Pontus Nordström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Francesco in the 73rd minute of play forced Santa Margarita's goalkeeper Pontus Nordström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pontus Nordström came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Afonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Klaus Mohammadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Osvaldo Daunte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Lordi in the 80th minute of play. Pontus Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Afonso in the 85th minute of the match. Santa Margarita's Martin Guerrero was substituted for Witomir Pisarczyk. A sloppy throw-in by Anselmo Manex in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Santa Margarita's Martin Guerrero. Osvaldo Daunte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klaus Mohammadi in the 92nd minute of play. The Santa Margarita fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Characate FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
