Nash Thomas charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nash Thomas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 14 minutes into the game, one of SC Otten:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cícero Proença had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Laurids Hvenekilde's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Cícero Proença came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Hønning's Laurids Hvenekilde. But to his dismay, Laurids Hvenekilde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeu Koehler got free with Dirch Glerum in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John-Arne Riise blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cícero Proença having to make a save. Cícero Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Arne Riise, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Benne Reijnders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Proença having to interfere. Cícero Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John-Arne Riise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cícero Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benne Reijnders in the 36th minute of the match. Hønning's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laurids Hvenekilde in the 38th minute. Simon Svanström made a great header on Hønning's corner, it was just that SC Otten's Cícero Proença managed to reach the ball for a save. Dirch Glerum made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hette Kiewiet in the 41st minute. Hønning's Dirch Glerum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Hønning from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute John-Arne Riise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils Neufeld made a kick off. In the 51st minute John-Arne Riise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nils Neufeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nils Neufeld struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Dirch Glerum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Otten. Dirch Glerum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunnar Halleck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, one of Hønning:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dirch Glerum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Ackermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When Norman Ackermann came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the SC Otten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Ackermann couldn't finish the play. Dirch Glerum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Halleck in the 79th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Bircan Onay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirch Glerum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Kostas Gärtner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dirch Glerum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Halleck in the 90th minute of play. When the match was over Hønning could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Otten throughout the match.
