Jake Leonard came out of the goal and Valério Vilaça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Bidari kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After 9 played minutes SLB TELHA got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Manso. Fred Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th minute Fred Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Granja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SLB TELHA's Eusébio Candeias got a free kick in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Julio Tano managed to get in a good position for a shot. WINNING ELEVEN's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Tano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Granja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Fred Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Granja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Leonard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valério Vilaça, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Serafin Elizardo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Osvaldo Granja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, SLB TELHA's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Nilsson came free, but Osvaldo Granja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Avelino Abrantes to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, SLB TELHA's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Nilsson came free, but Osvaldo Granja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind WINNING ELEVEN's goalkeeper Jake Leonard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osvaldo Granja was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Fred Nilsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fred Nilsson really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. WINNING ELEVEN made a substitution. Patricio Ostadar replaced Luke Skywalker. Fred Nilsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldo Granja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, WINNING ELEVEN's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Bezerra came free, but Jake Leonard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Granja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Nilsson in the 71st minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Fred Nilsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldo Granja was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 74th minute, Adelino Manso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fred Nilsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Osvaldo Granja made a huge save. In the 82nd minute, SLB TELHA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Serafin Elizardo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jake Leonard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute Paulo Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Leonard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. WINNING ELEVEN's Jake Leonard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avelino Abrantes in the 87th minute of play. If Fred Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The WINNING ELEVEN supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing WINNING ELEVEN would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
