Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Murat Dogan made the kick off and thus started the match. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canada! In the 12th minute, Collin Grimm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Metin Tekin in the 14th minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Herb Good to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kelly Pearson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Boone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Zgabei, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute Metin Tekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herb Good saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Boone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Zgabei in the 20th minute of play. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metin Tekin in the 22nd minute of play. Kelly Pearson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Herb Good made a huge save. Herb Good made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Kelly Pearson sent off a good shot on target. Kelly Pearson in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Herb Good, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Herb Good made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Metin Tekin in the 29th minute of play. Du Lei Bin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilberto Boone having to make a save. Herb Good made an important save on a dangerous shot by Metin Tekin in the 36th minute. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Zgabei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, Canada's Metin Tekin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herb Good narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teodoro Barger was slow to take the kick. During this time Canada's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Teodoro Barger got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Herb Good quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilian Zgabei made a kick off. Emilian Zgabei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gilberto Boone made a huge save. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kelly Pearson in the 59th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Zgabei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Boone came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Emilian Zgabei. But to his dismay, Emilian Zgabei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Canada's Eli Stoddard was substituted for Teodoro Barger. Canada's Wally Guzman was substituted for Murat Dogan. After 83 played minutes Canada got a freekick which was hit by Ross Patten. In the 92ndth minute Du Lei Bin beautifully dribbled past Canada's defense and it looked for a moment as a certain goal, but Gilberto Boone pulled off a phantom save to prevent the ball from scoring on his left hand side. 95 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Metin Tekin came free, but Herb Good reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
