The supporters of FC Germania München booed when The Team FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Bowen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, FC Germania München's Aníbal Lorenzi threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Karsten Zentner, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aníbal Lorenzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Zentner in the 7th minute of play. Aníbal Lorenzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karsten Zentner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aníbal Lorenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karsten Zentner in the 14th minute of the match. FC Germania München's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raitis Porītis in the 15th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aníbal Lorenzi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karsten Zentner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Karsten Zentner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Aníbal Lorenzi made a huge save. Richard Mühsam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cao Shi Yi in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 38th minute Karsten Zentner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cao Shi Yi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Mühsam was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cao Shi Yi made a kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Germania München's Karsten Zentner got a free kick in the 54th minute. FC Germania München's Richard Mühsam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavin Singleton in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Germania München's zone, Cao Shi Yi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Mühsam came out of the goal and Cao Shi Yi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aníbal Lorenzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karsten Zentner, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 65th minute Karsten Zentner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aníbal Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 66 minutes, Karsten Zentner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Germania München's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karsten Zentner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aníbal Lorenzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Zentner in the 71st minute of play. In the 81st minute, Karsten Zentner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aníbal Lorenzi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Gavin Singleton took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Richard Mühsam to make any attempt to save it. In the 95th minute, Hector Pedroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee's whistle sounded for the end of the second half. The match was tied at 1-1. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Karsten Zentner made the kick off and play began. Hector Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 100th minute. Aníbal Lorenzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Germania München. In the 112th minute, Gerald Bradshaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half of extra-time was a real thriller. Both teams had created chances, but they were still tied when the whistle blew. The players were able to take a short breather during the short break.

The players still looked rather fresh even though it was time for second half of the overtime. Cao Shi Yi did a quick kick off. After 120 played minutes FC Germania München got a freekick which was hit by Noel Hägele. After 30 minutes of extra-time there was still no winner. The players now faced the much dreaded penalty shoot-out.

Aníbal Lorenzi had in the 136thth minute some difficulties stopping Karsten Zentner's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 141st minute there was a penalty for FC Germania München. Ahmet Orhan İlbaşı stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aníbal Lorenzi. 2-2. In the 143rd minute there was a penalty for The Team FC. Raul Bowen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Richard Mühsam. 2-3. The referee gave The Team FC a penalty, 145 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Guy Baxter, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Germania München's Richard Mühsam. 3-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Team FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
