With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zacarias Sesimbra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Barry Houghton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve De Wilde having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Barry Houghton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steve De Wilde was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Pan Jian Yong blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Sesimbra having to make a save. Zacarias Sesimbra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pan Jian Yong in the 18th minute of the match. When Dragonf⮊rcE's Barry Houghton in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lions United's goalie prevented a goal. Zacarias Sesimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Jian Yong in the 24th minute of play. Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 31st minute of play. Pan Jian Yong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zacarias Sesimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Jian Yong in the 38th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Lions United's Pan Jian Yong slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zacarias Sesimbra. That made the score 1-2 after 45 minutes of play. The Lions United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dragonf⮊rcE were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pan Jian Yong made a kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lions United's goalkeeper Steve De Wilde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Lions United's zone, Barry Houghton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve De Wilde came out of the goal and Barry Houghton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragonf⮊rcE's goalkeeper Zacarias Sesimbra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dragonf⮊rcE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gao Cheng Yun was slow to take the kick. During this time Lions United's players had a chance to rest. Lions United's Steve De Wilde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Lions United from getting a goal against them. Pan Jian Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zacarias Sesimbra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pan Jian Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 71st minute of play. Pan Jian Yong hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Dragonf⮊rcE's Mário Jardel was substituted for Barry Houghton. A collision led to Lions United getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Pan Jian Yong hit a great ball. Pan Jian Yong blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Sesimbra having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 87th minute of play forced Dragonf⮊rcE's goalkeeper Zacarias Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dragonf⮊rcE's Zacarias Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 90th minute of play. Mário Jardel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steve De Wilde having to make a save. Lions United's Steve De Wilde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Lions United from getting a goal against them.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dragonf⮊rcE walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
