The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, A.S. Ian Fenomeni's goal looked a bit too open when Sergen Sergen came free, but Cristiano Granata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Munderloh came free, but Jay Jowsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harald Munderloh in the 14th minute of play forced Attard Gunners's goalkeeper Jay Jowsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Attard Gunners getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani hit a great ball. Jay Jowsey came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by A.S. Ian Fenomeni's Harald Munderloh. But to his dismay, Harald Munderloh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Palmisano came free, but Jay Jowsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dino Palmisano in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jay Jowsey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rdth minute of the game Dino Palmisano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Ian Fenomeni's goalkeeper Cristiano Granata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Sergen Sergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Granata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Ian Fenomeni's goalkeeper Cristiano Granata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 40 played minutes Attard Gunners got a freekick which was hit by Louis Naudi. In the 46th minute, Sergen Sergen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joshua Sammut Castelletti made a kick off. Sergen Sergen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Granata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play. Attard Gunners were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after A.S. Ian Fenomeni's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Godwin Sapiano took the corner. Attard Gunners's Sergen Sergen got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dino Palmisano got free with Jay Jowsey in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Attard Gunners's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dino Palmisano was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Ian Fenomeni's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dino Palmisano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey did a great save. Cristiano Granata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 61st minute of the match. Edoardo Galeone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Attard Gunners's Noel Buhagiar was substituted for Chris Trigona. A.S. Ian Fenomeni made a substitution. Corrado Filippini replaced Franco Walcher. After 65 minutes, Rodrigue Léonard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.S. Ian Fenomeni and the Attard Gunners players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rodrigue Léonard hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cristiano Granata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68thth minute of the game Dino Palmisano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sergen Sergen struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Cristiano Granata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Attard Gunners. Attard Gunners made a substitution. Alan Said replaced Sergen Sergen. The supporters of A.S. Ian Fenomeni booed when Attard Gunners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Xerri didn't get a good kick on the ball. A.S. Ian Fenomeni's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dino Palmisano in the 85th minute. The corner led A.S. Ian Fenomeni's Dino Palmisano to fire away a dangerous shot which Jay Jowsey despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jay Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald Munderloh in the 87th minute of play. Cristiano Granata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Savona in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd match minute, A.S. Ian Fenomeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enzo Guerrieri to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Adrian Savona made a precise shot to the right of Cristiano Granata. A.S. Ian Fenomeni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Adrian Grech charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Grech the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adrian Grech hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
