Peng Zhou Yang made in the 6th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gaizkine Urbina. Libardo Mayen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 9th minute of play. Sopa de Caracol FC's Libardo Mayen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 12th minute of play. 1-0 became the score in the 14th minute when Arturo Turner elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lv Peng Yi in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Smallwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mike Richardson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lanny Gilmore got free with Libardo Mayen in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arturo Turners short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Libardo Mayen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 27 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaizkine Urbina came free, but Aaron Smallwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaizkine Urbina, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Santos FC's Arturo Turner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Libardo Mayen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Warren Ruiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Zeng Zhen Chuan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and Zeng Zhen Chuan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaizkine Urbina in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Smallwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaizkine Urbina in the 43rd minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 minutes Santos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dacian Oprea who took care of the corner kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zeng Zhen Chuan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaizkine Urbina in the 54th minute of play. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Peng Zhou Yang in the 56 minute of the game. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Libardo Mayen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Lanny Gilmore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Libardo Mayen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lanny Gilmore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santos FC made a substitution. Tyron Velasquez replaced Arturo Turner. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Tyron Velasquez put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Libardo Mayen.
