Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnaldo de Sena in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chico Donato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olivier Gilg to make the kick off. Chico Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Club Athletico Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Gilg came free, but Acácio Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olivier Gilg in the 85th minute of play forced Club Athletico Paulistano's goalkeeper Acácio Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Haakon Brøndsel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Club Athletico Paulistano booed when DIPLOMATA FC PAB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. When the match was over Club Athletico Paulistano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than DIPLOMATA FC PAB throughout the match.
