Victor Chindriș in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luca Iosif, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 23 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Tăgorean came free, but Luca Iosif reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galati Harbour Cats's Luca Iosif proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Ioan Tăgorean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luca Iosif was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. 35 minutes into the game, Rea Tardu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Manole Ghiondea was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Placido Santxol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC U Cluj-N's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galati Harbour Cats the free kick. In the 58th minute, Placido Santxol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, FC U Cluj-N's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Ghiondea came free, but Iordache Calota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The goal made the score 1-1. 83 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Chindriș came free, but Luca Iosif reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, FC U Cluj-N's goalkeeper Iordache Calota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Brășneanu.
