Olov Stephansson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Jonasson in the 24th minute of play forced Samurai's goalkeeper Göran Ambjörnsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Göran Ambjörnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Alegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Kåre Sjögrens short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Göran Ambjörnsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Göran Ambjörnsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kåre Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kåre Sjögren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göran Ambjörnsson having to interfere. After the first half Samurai were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Per-Åke Eriksson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Per-Åke Eriksson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Olov Stephansson came out and tried to block the shot, but Per-Åke Eriksson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 54th minute. Per-Åke Eriksson came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Olov Stephansson could save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Kåre Sjögren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Göran Ambjörnsson was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. After 75th play minutes Per-Åke Eriksson shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Olov Stephansson and just under the crossbar into goal. With a little luck, Rätan IF's Olov Stephansson got control of the ball when Per-Åke Eriksson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rätan IF's Olov Stephansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Björkdal in the 92nd minute of play. Olov Stephansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Björkdal, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Rätan IF's goalkeeper Olov Stephansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Gustafsson. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Samurai walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
