The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Mirande in the 19th minute of play forced Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's goalkeeper Eugenio Nesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Zacarias Umea got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dave Basso in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Crescencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of CORNUDOS Fútbol Club booed when Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siro Nuno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Eugenio Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Sagrario in the 25th minute of play. Angelo Crescencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dave Basso's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Teo Dolfo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CORNUDOS Fútbol Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Pomelo Nenene the free kick. In the 33rd minute, Dave Basso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Pomelo Nenene fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Angelo Crescencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Basso, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Lars Benets short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Angelo Crescencio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice moves Zacarias Umea could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Angelo Crescencio however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars Benet got free with Angelo Crescencio in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

52 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Dave Basso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Crescencio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Eugenio Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilario Sagrario in the 54th minute of play. When Silvestre Cuartio fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's protests and gave Silvestre Cuartio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, one of Deportivo Pomelo Nenene:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo Pomelo Nenene. Eugenio Nesto had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Norberto Ferdinand's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 59th minute, Norberto Ferdinand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CORNUDOS Fútbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 67 minutes of play, Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Dave Basso made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Crescencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Ciro Tello in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Angelo Crescencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Tello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Nesto made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Melchor Mirande sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Akamas Farmakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Nesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Sagrario in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hilario Sagrario in the 92nd minute of play forced Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's goalkeeper Eugenio Nesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angelo Crescencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Basso in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Ciro Tello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Crescencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Pomelo Nenene fans cheered their team off the field, for while CORNUDOS Fútbol Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
