The referee showed Jack Dickens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. OMONOIA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlétic Incles the free kick. Polybos Malavazos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Gilchrist, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Burnett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Club Atlétic Incles defense, Lakis Vrotsos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christopher Burnett. The Club Atlétic Incles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christopher Burnett should have stopped the shot. Wally Jones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Polybos Malavazos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 42nd minute of the match Nikos Koulouris completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nikos Koulouris a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After the first half OMONOIA were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Akastos Nomikos was the one to do the kick off. Loyd Cryer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Club Atlétic Incles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Sainz to maneuver through the defense. After 67 minutes, Bradley Westlake mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlétic Incles and the OMONOIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Club Atlétic Incles:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of OMONOIA:s goal. 71 minutes in the game, Haides Dritsas fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christopher Burnett having to interfere. Polybos Malavazos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Sainz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. OMONOIA's Akastos Nomikos got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Akastos Nomikos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Loyd Cryer made a precise shot to the right of Polybos Malavazos. OMONOIA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 90th minute Akastos Nomikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Burnett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Akastos Nomikos got free with Christopher Burnett in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 92 minutes, Aaron Small mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlétic Incles and the OMONOIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atlétic Incles's Aaron Small got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Christopher Burnett was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lakis Vrotsos. The OMONOIA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing OMONOIA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
