Fabian Janssens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ágætis Byrjun. Fabian Janssens came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Gido van Zaanen. But to his dismay, Gido van Zaanen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Decathlon Dudes's Juan Ayuso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elsevär Reitsma during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Elsevär Reitsma hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The long shot by Jan Raas in the 22nd minute really tested Maraman Reitsma's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 24thth minute of the game Feddo Reitsma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Decathlon Dudes's Fabian Janssens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maraman Reitsma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Raas in the 26th minute. Laurens Reitsma kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Fabian Janssens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elsevär Reitsma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elsevär Reitsma in the 36th minute of play forced Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper Fabian Janssens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th match minute, Decathlon Dudes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Ayuso to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Decathlon Dudes's goal looked a bit too open when Elsevär Reitsma came free, but Fabian Janssens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Janssens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elsevär Reitsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 40th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tonnie Zwartkruis to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chiel Middeljans got free with Maraman Reitsma in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chiel Middeljans to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Chiel Middeljans made a precise shot to the right of Maraman Reitsma. Ágætis Byrjun's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 59th minute Jan Raas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maraman Reitsma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Janssens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feddo Reitsma in the 61st minute of the match. Ágætis Byrjun were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Decathlon Dudes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roderick Oosterhof took the corner. Roderick Oosterhof made a great header on Ágætis Byrjun's corner, it was just that Decathlon Dudes's Fabian Janssens managed to reach the ball for a save. Elsevär Reitsma's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fabian Janssens firmly grabbed it by the left post. Decathlon Dudes's Fabian Janssens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Decathlon Dudes from getting a goal against them. Elsevär Reitsma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 84 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Elsevär Reitsma. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Sluis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Raas struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Maraman Reitsma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Decathlon Dudes. After a rather tough play, Decathlon Dudes's Fabio Jakobsen got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ágætis Byrjun's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
