The audience was convinced that Paulo Tasso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilton Paraibano was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Compugraf's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fiko Violento was slow to take the kick. During this time Monumento Sports's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Monumento Sports's corner Fiko Violento fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilton Paraibano quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Compugraf's Betinho Arce got a free kick in the 13th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Compugraf's zone, Paulo Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton Paraibano came out of the goal and Paulo Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernando Vieira hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Wilton Paraibano made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Paulo Tasso sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulo Tasso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilton Paraibano. That made the score 3-0 in the 28 minute of play. Compugraf's Betinho Arce managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Flávio da Fonseca in the 30 minute of the game. Wilton Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Tasso in the 32nd minute. Válter Siqueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulisses Bertassi went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Flávio da Fonseca hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the match, Compugraf's goalkeeper Wilton Paraibano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Tasso. In the 47th minute Paulo Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Paraibano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo José Monteiro to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Compugraf's Tony de Almeida got a free kick in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the Compugraf defense, Paulo Tasso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilton Paraibano. The Compugraf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilton Paraibano should have stopped the shot. Compugraf's attentive Betinho Arce managed to snatch the ball when Flávio da Fonseca made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Paulo Tasso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilton Paraibano was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Wilton Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Betinho Arce threw the ball into play from the sideline. Monumento Sports's Flávio da Fonseca quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Monumento Sports's Paulo Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilton Paraibano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Tasso went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Ulisses Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Válter Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Paulo Tasso made a precise shot to the right of Wilton Paraibano. Compugraf's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. Wilton Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Tasso in the 91st minute of play. Frank Sergipano hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Wilton Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Tasso in the 94th minute of the match. Monumento Sports walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
