The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Aníbal Loyola put in a rough tackle. In the 7th minute, one of Voyager Soccer Team:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Voyager Soccer Team. After a rather tough play, Voyager Soccer Team's Vítor Vale got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute, Edvaldo de Toledo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldemar Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After some careless play in the Voyager Soccer Team defense, Edvaldo de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Gerber. The Voyager Soccer Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Gerber should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Voyager Soccer Team getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Dorival Zonta hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Voyager Soccer Team defense, Percival Figueiredo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Gerber. The Voyager Soccer Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Gerber should have stopped the shot. Waldemar Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edvaldo de Toledo in the 37th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Voyager Soccer Team got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Veiga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo de Toledo in the 40th minute of play forced Voyager Soccer Team's goalkeeper Waldemar Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Edvaldo de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 minutes of play, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Edvaldo de Toledo made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldemar Gerber was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flávio Meireles was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Voyager Soccer Team got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Pirani. 59 minutes into the game, José Augusto Couto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Waldemar Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Pedro Luiz Saldanha got a free kick in the 64th minute. Voyager Soccer Team's Waldemar Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo de Toledo in the 68th minute of play. Waldemar Gerber came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Blumenau Esporte Clube's Edvaldo de Toledo. But to his dismay, Edvaldo de Toledo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Flávio Meireles's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Waldemar Gerber firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Voyager Soccer Team's Waldemar Gerber got control of the ball when Edvaldo de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot by Pedro Luiz Saldanha from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Waldemar Gerber's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Voyager Soccer Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Edvaldo de Toledo scored to the left of an out of position Waldemar Gerber, making the score, 0-9. In the 91st minute, Diguinho Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Voyager Soccer Team fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Blumenau Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
